Rend Lake Conservancy District is Hiring a Golf Course Equipment Manager Near Benton, IL
- Inspects, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment including diesel-, electric- and gasoline-powered automobiles, trucks, trenchers, sweepers, rollers, mowers, and other mechanical equipment used in utility work
- Instructs and/or trains golf course groundskeepers regarding preventative maintenance and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment.
- Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work
- Maintains a preventative maintenance program within budget on all equipment and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies
- Keeps a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventative maintenance for all equipment
- Spot checks equipment on the course and services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use
- Regulates employee use of equipment in absence of Superintendent
- Performs other duties as required
- High school education
- Three or more years of golf maintenance experience
- Possess a valid drivers license.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to repair gasoline and diesel fuel engines
- Ability to repair golf cart and other battery driven engines
- Ability to sharpen and maintain cutting equipment
- Ability to repair small engines and landscaping tools
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, extreme weather conditions, and/or loud noises
- Moderate physical activity. May require some heavy physical work; lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects in excess of 50 pounds.
- Must be physically and mentally able to thoroughly complete the required tasks, in a timely and competent manner.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
